Writing Exceptional Resumes for New College Graduates: Greatest Challenges and Best Solutions

Live Program January 10, 2024 • 12:30–2:00 pm US Eastern Time
Recorded Program available as of January 15, 2024

Writing resumes for new college graduates gives you the opportunity to make these candidates shine and feel empowered in their searches. Yet their resumes often present unique challenges as you work to uncover each graduate’s particular talents, distinguish them from others with similar qualifications, overcome any negatives, and position them as strong candidates for their desired roles.

As you work with your graduating student clients, no matter their different areas of study or career goals, you are likely to ask yourself many of the same questions:

  • “How do I write a captivating, authentic profile?”
  • “What if they don’t have any relevant experience—no internships, coops, or relevant jobs?”
  • “How can I show leadership traits if they weren’t involved in any extracurriculars, clubs, or sports?”
  • “How do I deal with students who think they have nothing special to share?”
  • “What if they were a terrible student?”
  • “How do I draw information from them? What questions should I ask?”
  • “What if they are pursuing multiple career objectives—or if they haven’t yet decided on a goal?”
  • “One page? Two pages? How do I make that decision?”
  • “Can ChatGPT help me with this project?”

In this 90-minute webinar, co-authors and Master Resume Writers Jan Melnik and Louise Kursmark will share strategies and numerous sample resumes that address these questions—and more! Ample time will be allotted to answer additional questions from attendees. The entire webinar (including Q&A) will be recorded for future viewing and close review of the 25+ pages of handout materials.
